Airspace Restrictions

Airspace closed to hang gliders and paragliders

  • any airspace classified A, B, C, D or E;
  • any prohibited area, marked P on aeronautical charts;
  • any restricted area, marked R on aeronautical charts;
  • any airspace within 5 km of a controlled aerodrome.

Paragliders and hang gliders may fly VFR in GOLF airspace.

You must carry an up to date Italian aeronautical chart if you are flying cross country, or anywhere other than a club site where you have had a full local airspace briefing.
